Just wanted to report that me and my family had the most fantastic overnight fishing trip out of Venice with Strike Zone Charters on the 55'Ocean on August 2-3. Gary Bonanno and his crew could not have done a better job in preparing for us and making the trip for me, my children Morgan "MoJo" (13), Cameron (12) and Savannah (9) Wooley, and a couple of other family members an experience to remember.
I went fishing in Barataria Bay in Lafitte. I hooked into a 7ft garfish. I didn't have anyone with me and when i got 1/3 of his body in the small net I had, I couldn't bring it up into the boat. I fought him for 30 minutes. I also caught 10 reds, but only 4 legal. I'd like to hear about fishing nearby Prairieville, La.

It is now official, the trout have busted loose around Grand isle. The weather finally calmed down for a few days and the water cleared up. The bbig girls are hanging out at all of their usual haunts close to and on the beach. They have not been harrased at all this year due to the weather and they are all but jumping in the boat.

It's time to head to Grand Isle. Either bring your own boat or give us a call.

We are still dealing with muddy water close to the island but you have to remember it was just a few days ago that we had 20+ knot winds blowing across the sand pile.

The winds have slacked some in the last few days and the water is clearing up. We are due for some calmer days ahead that should help clear up the water and give us the chance to get to where we want to fish and where the big girls are hanging out.

Right now we are still fishing the marshes north of Grand Isle. On days when ...

Went stay at Chicot State Park Sunday and Monday. Fished Chicot Lake Sunday from 7-1:30 and ain't had a bite for bass and everyone we talked to didn't catch. Monday mornin headed to Miller's Lake and fished for bass until about 10:00 and my buddy caught one fish about 13 inches and that was it. Put the bass poles back and started fishin for brem with crickets. We ended up with about 35 nice bull brem and 2 gagali and a few sac-a-lait and 3 more bass.
